Rainman Watermaker Spare Parts and Consumables

Your new Rainman system will arrive with enough spares and consumables to keep you going for a while, so most customers do not need to order more with initial purchase. There are a variety of items you will need over time to keep your system running for many years.

Prefilters

Your new Rainman watermaker comes with 5 prefilters (one fitted and four spares). Depending on the source water, each filter should last between 5 and 50+ hours. They are non-proprietary and available around the world.

Pickle Solution Mix

Your new Rainman watermaker comes with a 1 kg (2.2 lb) tub of food grade sodium metabisulfite.  You only use 3 tablespoons when you store the system for extended periods, so this tub should last a long time.

Jabsco Impeller Kit

The impeller requires changing every year or two.  We use standard sized impellers that can be sourced from Jabsco, Johnson, Oberdorfer, etc. They are inexpensive and small, so it may be worth keeping a spare.

RO Membranes

The RO membranes last 5 to 10 years. We use DuPont Filmtec membranes. They are non-proprietary sized and readily available. The TDS (total dissolved solids) readings will increase over time, so most people change membranes when it climbs near 800 ppm of TDS.

High Pressure Hose

The system uses either one or two black high pressure hoses. These may wear out over time, especially if the hose is vibrating against an edge of some kind.

Standard hose lengths are 5 m (16 ft), but a 10 m (32 ft) can be ordered if required.

Capacitor Kit

Rainman sells capacitors in a set  for the two different motor options (115VAC / 60HZ option or 230VAC / 50HZ option). The recommended replacements may vary slightly from the original capacitance value installed in the motor – the voltage ratings can be as rated or higher.

Candiru HP Hose Fitting

If you need to shorten a Rainman high pressure hose in the field, we have developed a convenient and easy to use fitting that may be added using nothing more than some food grade grease and two spanners (wrenches).
